In an interview with CNN, the director shared:

“I have left some things open to discuss in the second season if that happens.” “I want to unfold the frontman (played by Lee Byung Hun)’s past and Joonho (played by Wi Ha Joon)’s story and the man who carries around ddakjis in his briefcase (played by Gong Yoo)’s story. These weren’t necessarily explained in the first season so I’d like to explain those parts in season 2.”

Director Hwang Dong Hyuk said,

“Since writing, producing, and directing a series alone is a lot so I’m worried when I think about filming season 2.” He continued, “There’s nothing confirmed at the moment. I’m personally contemplating it as so many people talk about season 2” .

‘Squid Game’ has now completely taken the world by storm and was even predicted to become Netflix‘s most-watched series.

However, there are still worries regarding the new season. Previously, Hwang Dong Hyuk revealed he lost six teeth while producing the show due to immense stress.
